As the Tail Wags – “A New Day In Labrador Falls”

Season 1, Episode 24

The night finally came to an end in the city of Labrador Falls. The evening’s events included a gathering of many dogs at the Labrador Falls Dog Park, including a dog fight (Samson) and an announcement of impending motherhood (Chloe).

Then came the surprise rainstorm about the time the park was ready to close. On the way home there was a bad car accident that caused an injury to one of the dog owners (Old Man Jenkins).

The night came to a close with four of the dogs at the Johnson house after a search for a missing dog (Rex) paid off. Quite a busy night in the sleepy town of Labrador Falls.

Now may be a good time to recap the dogs and owners we’ve met.

The next day was bright and sunny. One would never know there had been rain falling most of the night before. At the Johnson house, Al Johnson got up at 6:30 am to let Tillie and Rover go outside. He then went out front to get his morning newspaper and noted that the lawn could use a mowing.

He made a mental note to tell his 13-year-old son, Preston he would have to mow the grass. Preston would moan and complain but the money in his pocket when he was finished would help him pay for his video games. His passion for video games and the necessary equipment and subscriptions, required a continuous supply of cash.

There had been a big commotion at the Johnson house last night but Preston was unaware the whole time. He had been downstairs in the basement and was in the middle of one of his MMPORGs (massively multiplayer online role-playing games). He was currently trying to juggle both World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings. These two games consumed most of his waking hours.

Likewise, his sister, Mikayla was listening to music on a pair of headphones. She was upstairs in her bedroom and also oblivious to the noise and excitement from the night before. Mikayla was a 15-year-old who had recently determined that she knew everything there was to know. She could not be bothered by domestic issues involving family or dogs.
Meanwhile, on the south side of town, Krystal Sullivan’s alarm went off much too early for her liking. It had been after midnight by the time she and Fantasia got back to their apartment. Krystal had to go in for her normal shift at the Labrador Falls Regional Hospital.

She had worked there for over four years and made the usual ten minute drive to the hospital. While at work, she intended to check up on the two accident victims that had been taken there last night. She had assisted both of them prior to the emergency help arriving to take over.

She arrived at the hospital and said the usual hellos to her fellow staff members. She went to the front desk to look at the list of patients. She scanned the Bs and soon found Chelsea Baker. She noted Chelsea was in Room 512 and made plans to pay her a visit later that day.

Chelsea had suffered a broken arm that had been placed in a cast. There were X-rays taken and it appeared she may need additional surgery but for now it showed that she was doing well and resting comfortably.

Then she scanned further down to look for David Jenkins. “G…H…I…J… hmm,” she said half aloud. “That’s funny. I don’t see his name here…”
