Season 1, Episode 7
When last we checked in, Chloe was just about to tell Tillie something very important about her pregnancy and its effect on her boyfriend, Samson.
“Here’s the situation. I don’t have a problem telling Samson I’m going to have puppies. I have a problem telling Samson the puppies aren’t his,” said Chloe.
“Not his? You mean he’s not the father?” asked Tillie.
“Not likely,” replied Chloe.
“Wow, this is getting pretty juicy! What makes you think Samson isn’t the father?”
“It’s my owners. Ben and Debbie wanted me to have puppies, so a few weeks ago they ‘arranged’ for me to meet a border collie just like me. They have it all down to a science and the puppies are almost certainly going to be border collies, not border collies with Doberman,” said Chloe, hoping she wasn’t dumping her problems on Tillie.
“So even though Samson would think he’s hot stuff being a father, they wouldn’t be his?” questioned Tillie.
“Exactly. And you know what a big head he has. When he finds out I’m pregnant, he’ll strut around all proud. He’s probably going to pass out cigars. He’d never believe they couldn’t be his,” cried Chloe.
“That sounds like Samson. He’s so full of himself, we’ll never hear the end of it,” said Tillie, knowing how Samson was extremely self-centered.
Standing close to Chloe and Tillie were their four owners, Ben and Debbie Meyers (Chloe) and Al and Sandy Johnson (Tillie).
“If you guys can’t stop drooling over that floozy, we’re going home!” said Debbie, standing near Sandy. The two women were good-naturedly ribbing their husbands, who had been mesmerized ever since Krystal Sullivan walked into the dog park with her dog, Fantasia.
“Yes, Al. And look at that dog of yours. He’s as bad as you perverts. He’s been lying around ever since we got here. Now he sees a cute dog and all of a sudden he wakes up and pays attention,” Sandy said to her husband.
Sandy was referring to their dog, Rover, who had been resting comfortably in the the northeast corner of the dog park. He barely got up when the fight Samson got into was going on.
But all of a sudden, his interest increased to the point where he stood up and sauntered over to the gate where Fantasia had made her entrance.
“Like owner, like dog!” cracked Debbie.
Tillie’s boyfriend Rex, who had been playing with a large pack of dogs who’d been chasing balls, had also stopped to check out the new arrival at the dog park. Tillie spotted him and said, “Hey you big goofball! What you looking at?”
Rex gave her a sheepish grin. He knew he was out of his league with Fantasia but he figured it didn’t hurt to look. He ran over to Tillie who was finishing up her talk with Chloe.
Tillie spoke to Chloe, “Well you know you have my support and if there’s anything I can do, let me know.”
“Thank you, Tillie. You’re so nice. I’m glad to have a friend like you,” said Chloe. “Let’s stay in touch. I come here to the dog park almost every day. We live really close.”
“Hopefully Al and Sandy will bring Rover and me here again soon. I’ll look out for you,” said Tillie.
“Same here!” shouted Chloe.
