I wasn’t quite sure what to do so I did what most dogs do in those situations. I barked. Not a lot but a few times to show some authority, although I don’t really know what was the right thing to do.
Let me give you some background. It was about 8:45 in the morning and I was out on the patio with Dad. I was still panting a little from our trip to the dog park and the dozens of balls I’d retrieved.
I had put my head down and was beginning to feel the warm glow of one of the dozens of naps I take throughout the day when something didn’t seem quite right. I lifted my head up and before I knew it, there was a 25 lb. bobcat just a few yards away – I’m going to guess about 10 to 15 yards.
