New Digs

IMG_4874As many of you know, Dad and I moved from Boise, Idaho to Englewood, Florida recently. Things are a little bit different here.

I have a big backyard I can look at from my back porch.  I like it because there is nobody’s house behind us and it goes on for a long ways.

It rains a lot here. It’s a good thing I’m not very afraid of thunder babies. There is lots of thunder and lightning here.

We don’t always get a big storm but we almost always hear thunder and lightning every day. The temperature is high and so is the humidity but there is often a cool breeze that blows off the ocean.

I share this house with a little puppy named Mac. He is a handful. He is three months old and he weighs about 150 pounds (actually 24 lbs.)  I think he is going to weigh about 600 pounds when he is full-grown.

There is a dog park close by and dad takes me to it almost every morning.  The dog park is really big and has lots of grass. I like to roll around and get wet in the dew. Sometimes I forget about my friends and just like to chase the tennis ball.  Dad discovered a shortcut to the dog park. We can save about 15 minutes just by going through the shortcut.

I have met a couple of new friends there. One’s name is Maggie. She is a pretty nice brown dog. She likes to take my tennis ball away from me.

I also have a friend named Miles. He likes to chase me too.  I don’t have a picture of Miles yet but I’ll try to get one.  He’s mostly white but has a big black spot on his back and a black patch over his eye.  He likes to run around with Maggie.

Buster is a nice dog too but he doesn’t play too much. I think he might be a little bit older. One of Buster’s favorite things to do is to bark at the guys on the big lawn mowers.

Another one of my friends is named Annie.  Annie is another lab who is almost four years old.  I have a few pictures of Annie.

  1. It sounds like you guys have settled in nicely in Florida. Big change from Boise! How you describe the storms it sounds comforting… weird right? We’ve always loved thunder babies. Now about this 150 lb puppy, lol, yes Mac could probably be 600 lb by Christmas as I’m guessing Porter will hit that weight by September. To Charlie: we miss you gurrl. Porter and Bailey everyday try to climb the stairs to your house to visit you. They still smell you and miss you terribly. You two take care of each other!!!! Big hugs from Idaho.
