It was really nice out yesterday so Dad and I went for a walk on the greenbelt. Our apartment is cool because it’s only a short walk to the greenbelt, which runs parallel to the Boise River. The path is paved so Dad can walk or ride his bike. Today we walked.
We got as far as the second bridge going west which is less than a mile. We weren’t really out for serious exercise. Dad just wanted to go outside because it was so nice out.
After we had turned around and were heading back home, I spotted a golden retriever. He is the same dog Dad and I first met on Sunday when I was going swimming in the river. His name is Gus and he is only five months old but he’s already taller than me. However, I am a little faster and not quite as awkward so we make for good playing companions.
Gus was being taught how to follow his owner’s directions but when he saw me he wanted to play. We were on a remote part of the greenbelt so his owners let him off his leash and Dad did the same with me. We had a good time playing together. I tried to get Gus to go swimming but he’s still shy of the water. I was too at that age.
Dad met Gus’s owners, Codee and Andy. I’m not sure if that’s how you spell Codee but that’s what it sounded like. I’ve never known a girl by that name so that’s how I spell it. They live in our apartment complex so I should get a chance to see Gus more in the future.
